The Department of Science and Technology of Anhui Province has announced the first batch of provincial future industry science and technology park pilot sites. Eight parks were selected province-wide, with two from Wuhu — the Embodied Intelligence Science Park in Jiujiang District and the Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) Science Park in the High-tech Zone. This places Wuhu among the province's top tier and signals key provincial support for these two frontier fields.

The Embodied Intelligence Science Park in Jiujiang District sits within the Mengxi Science and Technology Innovation Corridor. Wuhu is home to China's first national-level robotics industry cluster, having attracted over 300 upstream and downstream enterprises, with output value reaching 41.5 billion yuan in 2025. Leveraging the strengths of leading enterprise EFORT, the city has built the country's first third-generation SiC Robot Future Community, established a general-purpose technology platform, and opened over 100 application scenarios spanning industry, commerce and healthcare. Humanoid robots and multi-robot collaborative workstations have achieved localized production, continuously refining the full-chain ecosystem for embodied intelligence R&D, pilot testing and demonstration applications.

The BCI Science Park in the High-tech Zone is anchored by the Industry-University-Research and Innovation Center of Wannan Medical University and the Tianan Brain Science Industrial Park. The city has hosted a BCI industry promotion conference, introduced dedicated support policies, and established the province's first BCI clinical ward, completing Anhui's first implantable BCI surgery this year. By partnering with the academician-led team at Beijing Tiantan Hospital Anhui Branch and engaging over 10 leading medical device enterprises, Wuhu is streamlining the laboratory-to-clinic-to-industry pathway to build a BCI innovation and commercialization hub in the Yangtze River Delta.

The selection of the two parks will allow them to leverage provincial policy resources to accelerate breakthroughs in core technologies and the rollout of innovative scenarios, helping Wuhu develop new quality productive forces and move toward a 100-billion-yuan future industry cluster.
