The 2026 German Enterprises Wuhu Forum was held on July 10. Xu Zhi, deputy secretary of the CPC Wuhu municipal committee and mayor, attended and delivered a speech. Also present were Xu Jingbo, vice president of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry Greater China; Zhang Yi, chief representative in China of the Liaison Office of the State of Lower Saxony; and municipal leaders Cao Xiaoming and Pan Feng.

Xu welcomed the guests and briefed them on Wuhu's economic and social development. He said Wuhu and German enterprises share a strong partnership, with 33 German firms already established in the city. Wuhu is building its "1868" modern industrial system, strengthening its pillar industries while accelerating the development of emerging industries such as robotics, intelligent manufacturing and new materials, and making early moves in future industries such as embodied intelligence and future energy. The city is also advancing modern services including technology services and logistics. This represents both Wuhu's development blueprint and an opportunity for cooperation with German enterprises, Xu said. He voiced hopes for deeper cooperation across industrial, supply and innovation chains. Wuhu will continue to align with high-standard international economic and trade rules and foster a market-oriented, law-based and internationalized business environment, so that every entrepreneur investing in the city can operate with confidence, he said.

Executives from 15 German enterprises, including Heraeus Group, Möller Tech and Neura Robotics, expressed strong interest in partnering with Wuhu. Representatives from seven local companies, including Schaeffler, Chery Automobile and EFORT, shared their development experiences and explored potential collaboration.

The German delegation also visited the Wuhu Industrial Innovation Exhibition Hall, Chery Automobile, EFORT Intelligent Robot and United Automotive Electronic Systems.
