Wuhu Folk Cultural Activities
Wuhu's folk culture is rooted in Yangtze River water town culture and Hui culture, with diverse and orderly inherited folk activities, combining regional characteristics and traditional cultural connotations. During the Spring Festival, activities such as dragon and lion dances, temple fairs and traditional opera performances are held all over Wuhu, creating a strong festive atmosphere. During the Dragon Boat Festival, large-scale dragon boat races are held along the Yangtze River, with high public participation and a warm competition atmosphere, making it the most representative Dragon Boat Festival folk custom in the Wanjiang area. In addition, there are folk activities such as Mid-Autumn Moon appreciation, Double Ninth mountain climbing, Yashan Temple Fair and intangible cultural heritage handicraft exhibitions, covering various forms such as folk opera, traditional skills and folk sacrifices. These folk activities not only inherit the core of traditional Chinese festival culture, but also integrate Wuhu's local regional characteristics, becoming an important carrier to display Wuhu's urban culture and inherit folk skills.
